Lyras designated a “Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate” by two of the nation’s most important gun safety advocacy groups: Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America and the Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund.

I would like to announce that I have been designated a “Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate” by two of the nation’s most important gun safety advocacy groups:  Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America and the Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund.

I am both pleased and proud that they have recognized and appreciate my support for reasonable gun safety legislation and I pledge to do all I can as a member of Congress to make our nation, our communities, and our families safet by doing everything possible to prevent tragedies like yesterday’s Highland Park massacre from happening in the years ahead.

Thanks to  Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America and the Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund for all you do. I look forward to working with you in the months and years ahead.

Mahoning County Democrats Gather For Long-Awaited Public Meeting

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Not even Bob Hagan, one of the area’s oldest and most passionate Democrats, could remember the last time the Mahoning County Democratic Party held a public rally. It was why Wednesday evening’s town hall meeting was so significant. Mahoning Democrats have a new chairman and this was his first chance to rally his base. Lou Lyras, First to get applause.

(WKBN) — Lou Lyras said he can win, and that if he didn’t think so he wouldn’t be in the race. But Lyras is a Democrat who realizes what he’s up against — that beating six-term Republican Congressman Bill Johnson in a predominately Republican district won’t be easy.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Louis Lyras wins Democratic nomination for U.S. House in Ohio's 6th Congressional District.

I noticed Rep. Bill Johnson is recycling his old signs, "Join the Fight!" I have to wonder what fight is he is talking about?

Is it the fight for gun safety? I guess not since he voted

NO on HR 1808 the Assault Weapons Ban of 2022.

Is it the fight for an individual’s right to contraception? I don’t think so since Rep. Johnson voted

NO on HR 8373 the Right to Contraception Act.

Maybe he is joining the fight for same-sex and interracial marriage? That would be a negative since he voted

NO on HR 8404 the Respect for Marriage Act.

Does he want us to join the fight for a woman’s right to make her own healthcare choices? That would be wonderful but not to be. Bill Johnson voted

NO on HR 8297 Ensuring Women’s Right to Reproductive Freedom Act and HR 8296 Women’s Health Protection Act of 2022.

It must be that Rep. Johnson want us to “Join the Fight” to protect our kids? Again, I don’t think so since he voted

NO on HR 7910 Protecting our Kids Act.

I am not sure what FIGHT Bill wants us to join but I can see he is not fighting for a women’s right to control her healthcare, our children’s right to safe schools and communities or your right to choose your partner and your birth control.

You have a choice when you vote Nov. 8 or earlier (Early Voting begins Oct. 12).
